Paxil CR vs. Paroxetine

i know paroxetine is just the generic for paxil cr, but i used to take paxil cr and now i have been taking paroxetine because thats why my insurance covers now... has anyone ever taken both and noticed any differences?

I've never taken CR, but I don't think there is that much of a difference. You can cut up paxil and take it in two or more doses throughout the day and it is pretty much the same as CR. I think just taking it once a day is enough, though.

The fact that CR hit the market shortly before the patent expiration of regular Paxil strongly suggests this has more to do with economics than pharmacology.
