Lexapro, how long does it take?

Hi, I was put on 10mg of Lexapro for 4 weeks and then bumped up to 15mg for the next 2 weeks. So I have been on it for a total of 6 weeks. I feel the GAD and depression has actually gotten a little worse. I recently started getting small panic attacks the last few nights.
I was also prescribed .5mg of clonazepam to take twice a day but don't. I take .125mg of it around 5pm when the anxiousness starts.
Has anyone been on Lexapro and can tell me how long it might be to start seeing good effects.
Thank you

I have heard it can take 4-6 weeks to start working. Given it is just six weeks now and you've only been on the higher dose for 2 weeks I think you should give it a few more weeks.

it can take up to 6-8 weeks ....(2 months) sometimes it can make your anxiety worse and depression before it actually works...so i would ask your doctor before you quit on it..

It took me 6 months for lexapro to start working, but I think I'm a minority.

I have been on Lexapro for almost 4 months, and I still feel pretty meh. Paxil took 3 months to work. I had assumed that Lexapro must be a dud for me, despite Paxil helping a lot. This does give me hope that one day I may see help. I have added in Rhodiola, GABA and Passion Flower to boost Lexapro.

Why do we have to go through the hell of having to wait 3-6 months to see relief? People might end up killing themselves before they get relief from this nightmare.
