Lexapro,again...

My doc gave me some Lexapro samples, now its for my nail biting and general anxiety. I've been on this stuff for 5 days and well its some pretty worthless stuff. I can say for the anxiety for say is still here, didn't help me. But as far as the nail biting goes its been aweseome, partly to do to it makes me space out (starring and daydreaming). Then I yawn for 30 minutes after I take it and thats it no fatique .

Heres the most important problem with it,sexual side effects. For one I can't well cum. Then once I give up on cumming my boner hangs around for another half hour or more. Then once it somewhat relaxes If I go to pee then its rises back up to full staff . This is starting to get to me,especially in the morning when I need to realy pee and what is this stuff laced with Viagra?

Is there any other anti anxiety medication that don't have any negative sexual side effects?

Is Lexapro supposed to stop you from biting your nails? if so its not doing too well. I bite my nails everyday. Try using benzos, they dont have sexual side effects.

I guess it could be considered as ocd and ssri's are prescribed for ocd, but i would stick with the benzos for your "nail biting issues"

re: Lexapro,again...

i'm taking it.
and, i'm not a guy or anything.
but, i found a website that mentions the side effects.
they are:
headache, nervousness, or anxiety
nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth, or changes in appetite or weight
sleepiness or insomnia
decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm

anyway, here's the website for this:

re: Lexapro,again...

it's funny that you posted this because i just recently quit lexapro for similar reasons ('cept i'm a girl) and today my pdoc mentioned wellbutrin as an alternative. she said it has no sexual sides. it works on the dopamine receptors, as opposed to the serotonin... not sure how this effects libido though... and i'm not particularly keen on finding out as i'm pretty happy with my benzos and beta-blockers. it might be an option for you, lee, if you also need an anti-depressant.

dx: bipolar ii, panic disorder, PMDD, SA
rx: mirtazapine 30mg, lamotrigine 200mg, levonorgestrel 150g, clonazepam prn, propranolol prn.

Keep in mind...lexapro will NOT help anxiety after only 5 days....give it a couple of weeks and THEN see....

The only way to change is to want to change
