Wish I took a zero instead of presenting in front of the class for 2 minutes

Talk about severe public speaking anxiety...
I lost sleep over this for a week, I practiced over again and knew the material. I ended up having to pull an all-nighter before the day of my presentation for another paper. And it actually went... worse than I thought it was going to be. I really liked and admired my professor, and I feel so embarrassed and ashamed. I’m in my senior year of college and I still feel like I’m in 6th grade doing a presentation for the first time. I can’t remember the last time I received any praise or questions for a presentation I’ve done (even for the material )

at least you did it. that's great given how much you were afraid of it. even if it went badly.

I had the same thing, only I avoided it most of the time. I can tell you, no matter how bad it went, it is still better than the alternative. Forget the grades, or people. This is about you, and you did it. That's all that matters.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

I think it's amazing that you did it! Doing something badly is SO much better than not doing it at all

“You gave me hyacinths first a year ago;
“They called me the hyacinth girl.”
—Yet when we came back, late, from the Hyacinth garden,
Your arms full, and your hair wet, I could not
Speak, and my eyes failed, I was neither
Living nor dead, and I knew nothing,
Looking into the heart of light, the silence.
Oed’ und leer das Meer.
