Doing a 3rd degree

I'm 31 and have had social anxiety for most of my life. I went to university twice for bachelors and masters degrees and neither have got me very far. I have an interview for medical school. Even if I got an offer I might not be able to afford it, but amongst my many concerns are the duration of study. I hid away from people for my entire 20s and made no friends at university. I've never had a proper adult life and I'm worried about the effect of studying for another 5 years for a medicine degree (plus all the years afterwards).

My life has been so weird. I never had any of those coming of age experiences and spent a lot of time isolated. I still do. I am scared about reaching 40 and still being a mess.
