Walked out of a concert...

Well tonight there was a free concert and before the concert since i went on my own i had some mild anxiety, i also did no slept that well for a couple days so that would have definitely played a roll!

The concert should start 10pm i was there 9-45 but the band was still soundchecking.. in the meantime i couldn't get my nervousness under control and around 10-20 i tought "ok i'm not gonna wait longer i'm going home"

Maybe it's running away but staying there didn't made it better. It's been a while since i did this but normally i would feel majorly insecure ect ect (years of learning about anxiety) now i have something "Damm too bad that i couldn't be relaxed but so be it" i'm currently in the train going back and let's say in the concert my anxiety was an 8 and now it's a 4... i could finally see them but that tense wasn't that much fun!

Saturday i'm going again to a concert and we will try it again 🙂 anyway just saying that for me when i'm in a social situation and the Anxiety is ****ed up i struggle to bring it back to a 4-3 in that same enviorment!

Do you folks struggle with the same situation or learned to master it, if so let me know how?

Kind Regards

Roderick

With concerts the last few times i've been on benzo/420 so I've been OK.

In general tho I'd say it will be if anything at least slihglty easier the next time. Everyone has their own "pace" of exposure tho, maybe you can jump further each iteration of exposure without an issue nad be able to dance at the concert? idk

Least you managed to go even though you didnt stay long. Impressive, I dont even have the guts to do that. Keep at it

So come rain on my parade
'Cause I want to feel it
Come shove me over the edge
'Cause my head is in overdrive

Totally true, by the way today was the first time of a couple of days that i slept better than normal, people talk about mental exhaustion being the culprid for more sensations, i dunno but this could be the trigger from yesterday

Anyway almost everybody at that club was with somebody and i was alone, so if the concert would start at the time it was suposed to go on i think i would stayed, but being there in A BUSY crowded place alone, noting to do just on my phone ect made me more nervous so yeah bummer

I hated concerts, too, but even going for a little while was a nice experience. Don't have to be perfect when you try new things.

Screw anxiety dont let a fear ruin your life, seriously why be anxious? Concerts are for music and for people, and theres countless people there, i dont see ang reason to be anxious

The thing that matters is that you actually went! Even though concerts can increase my anxiety, I just go with it and enjoy myself because I know literally nobody cares what I'm doing, they came for whoever is on the stage!

Hi Roderick,

What about the concert was unsettling? The atmosphere, the people...etc?

Finding out what unsettles you in that environment can be really helpful in managing it, and will allow you to enjoy concerts better in the future!x

Much love <3
