re: Starting a social anxiety group therapy tomorrow

The group in my region is pretty supportive so I love it! I'm never intimidated to go there. I'm actually relieved that someone can relate.

You had me at hello.

Noca,

I think it's great! . You know that other people will be nervous, too. You will all be on the same level, though. It won't be as bad as you think.

Remember that everyone else is probably nervous, too. But keep reminding yourself that there is really nothing to be afraid of!! You will get through the meeting and you will be OK, no matter what happens. I bet that you will even be glad that you went. So, try not to stress it, focus on other things in order to help with the anticipatory anxiety if you can. Worrying never does any good, and 99% of the time the thing that you worry about happening doesn't happen at all. So, you will do fine. Just relax, cool it, move to the peace zone. Good luck, man.

I still suffered alot of anticipatory anxiety but then I took some klonopin and it liberated me from my anxiety. I was so calm in the group and was able to participate more than anyone else.
