I think you should submit your scientific results to a journal of science.

Ive only gone a week and its already helping, I've been flirting with girls at work now, which I never used to do. there are too many skeptics on here... Plus you cant just stop and expect things to come to you. The point is you get more desire to go socialize and find a girl, use that energy!! You have to try people, things in life will not just fall right into your hands.
Sorry to be so harsh

Guess you meaning this thing called "Healthy Masturbation" which is basically fapping without any single sexual thought, since it does not involve the addictive behaviors or sexual images it does not trigger the same kind of arousal, so "healthy masturbation" is not addictive but also plain not fun.

Always looking for a better solution, what other choice do I have anyway?

it's a fairly new discovery and it's obviously helping many people, i'm glad this phenomena is surfacing and raising awareness. i've experienced good results from abstaining, no need to be shy about this subject, THIS WORKS

im with the OP on this one. A couple months back I was using porn heavily and masturbating OT. I develop porn induced ED and was no longer excited while watching. My penis was as soft as butter... During the time, I had no chance in talking to girl in real life. Every time a attractive girl would walk by, I would start blushing and my heart would start racing. So i decided to quit PMO for good! I went for a month without PMO and instantly my penis was getting thicker and juicier. I had no problem looking at any girl in the eyes. I was confident and was talkative and happy.

Then recently I just got back on porn. My orgasm was amazing... but it wasn't at its full potential. I relapse and now I am back in the vicious cycle of porn. The chaser effect has taken over me, click after click, boobs after boobs, ***** after *****.

I need to take control of my life. My penis is soft again and I have to start all over. All that hard work has gone to a waste. I struggling to socialize again and I am ashamed of my behavior.

Limiting porn and cutting down on excessive masturbation is not sexually repressing yourself. Porn/masturbation addiction is not normal and not healthy. And why are you so adamant in trying to disprove something that has obviously benefited so many people?

I can't wait for in a couple years when people are gonna be more aware of this than now. I have to admit if someone would have told me what op said two years ago I would have laugh too. The sooner people realized the seriousness of the problem, the sooner some people are gonna live better.

Thats the truth

older parts of you brain cannot differentiate between a television screen followed by an ejaculation and sex

once you let go off porn and jerking it for good (And its a long battle) your brain will change

Riiiiiight.

Tell me. Where did you find the definition of "excessive masturbation"? I masturbated twice last week (if you must know). Was that excessive in your estimation?

Obsessing about other people's sexual lives is probably not normal or healthy.

1. Because I know it's BS.

2. I know what it's really about. There have always been anti-porn zealots. Some of them are religious and others are just busybodies who are way too interested in what other people do with their genitals.

And this is bad, why?

Change into what?

Can you explain to me why I was afflicted by SA, shyness and depression when I was 5 years old? I'm pretty sure I hadn't discovered masturbation at that time.

We can all agree porn addiction is bad. But watching it moderately is OK. So if you have a porn addiction stop telling moderates to stop watching porn because it will make axiety melt away. Stop giving false hope. Stop pretending it's real science. Social anxiety has nothing to do with watching porn. These threads sound be deleted, they do more harm than good.

Well, it's not against masturbation but against porn

I don't think there's something bad about masturbation. However, massive porn use MIGHT be harmful. (Maybe it's not)

In some cases, it seems to be a good thing to stop watching porn (e.g. for the threadstarter)

I'm just going to try it, have nothing to lose anyway.

I shocked that so many people here aren't aware of the effects of over stimulation. Masturbation in itself in any form isn't something you should just hold back from- but you shouldn't put this off as complete bull****.

I found that all masturbation is complete in response to urges- urges that can otherwise be settled by actual interaction.

So I simply try to do the latter as much as possible as it's much more fruitful, for me- you all might feel different. You will not lose your shyness simply from not masturbating, but you will think about what you can do instead- Overcoming your shyness by socializing with Women/men falls under this.
