Helping someone else with SA/Depression?

I have a friend who I strongly suspect suffers from both SA and depression. He seems to be pushing everyone away me, a friend we both share, and all his school friends. I'm really concerned for him and I don't know what to do, or if I can do anything at all. I might have an easier time if he only had SA as I could more easily relate, but I've never suffered from depression and I don't want to accidentally do anything counterproductive. I know a lot of you here have, however, so maybe could talk about what you might have wanted your friends to do for you in the same position?

I'll tell them what the smile on my face meant
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" I said "You can keep my things,
They've come to take me home."
