$941

Reading through Cleo magazine today and I come across an article stating that the average woman earns $941 per week AFTER TAX!!!! Can this be right?? Thoughts?

Sounds like bull****.
Maybe older women with tons of work experience....in NYC

I earn $0

Assuming 4 weeks vacation in a year, net income after taxes is 48wk x 941 = 45,168.

Assuming 33% taxes, gross will be 45,168/0.66 ~ 68,000.

Average of almost 70k/year seems a bit high, especially if this is in USD.

the "average" woman?? That's painting with a pretty broad brush.

I just skimmed the original article. 941 is for the highest earning group, and it's significantly less than the what the highest earning men make. Sad that having a vagina still means we can't get equal pay.

Maybe if you're 40+ years of age...and even so, that's still a top echelon of the income earners. Most of my massage clientele are 40-50 year old women making $100k a year which is incredible! I kinda wonder what their husbands make a year too...

Im not sure if everyone knows this but Cleo is an Australian womans magainze (most likely aimed at women in there early 20's)

The article says on average, so this would include all women of working age working full time

Considering most uni graduates come out of uni on 70k (minimum) jobs... and working full time at fast food restaurants can put you on between 25-40k/year , I'm not surprised. It's Australia, we have monopoly money.
