What to write

I am as terrified of writing to people as I am of talking to them. SA keeps me from s social life. I work, come home and repeat. My best friends are my dogs. I can't function in social situations. Thanks for listening

Freeze up

I am just sitting and staring at the blank screen till now , just like I do around people. I retreat into my own world and count patterns ,objects or recite numbers in my head to get away from a social situation

Welcome to SAS!

Those dogs must be great friends, I wish I had a few dogs or even horses as a friend.

We are all socially awkward here, haha
Hopefully the forums treat you kindly!

omg i would count patterns with you, if that wasn't intrusive. i know counting patterns can be an introverted individual thing, but sometimes, if the other person is receptive, it might be nice to let them in on what you're counting, whether it's ceiling tiles or ripples in a carpet, so they can trace the deformations in the landscapes along with you, in silence, unmovingly. some people find this relaxing.

p.s. welcome

I. Love patterns in nature and oriental rugs the best . As for my dogs they are great ..don't judge, love unconditionally and are always happy to see me. I had a rabbit and two iguanas too but they passed on.

Welcome!
Animals are almost too good at making you feel better. I remember my old dog could just tell when I was down and she'd put her face in my lap. Tear jerking moment right there

Hey Alaska girl welcome.

Even if our scars donít match thereís no wrong you canít make better if you can figure out a way to change your mind.

And sure thereís things I regret not doing or doing. Those thoughts climb my spine like spiders, and then Iím really the stranger in my own bed,

and that ball of nervous gets pushed into every crack. Thatís whatís holding the bricks together.

So, what do I do now? Nothing except they I have spent my weekend in my pajamas watching it snow and watching tv. Feels like I should be more productive.. Or at least more engaged with the outside world. Would be nice to actually go to a movie. Too many people and noise , sounds good till I get yhere
