Walking alone

I went on a walk by myself for probably only the second time . I felt like a risk taker yesterday and parked up and did a 2 mile walk in the woods. Went past about 4 people, it's really quiet.
The only negative for me is when women alone walk past because I'm so tall and in my head I think they must be thinking oh **** he's big what if he's got a knife and will mug me lol so it feels awkward. I need to change my mindset on this.

Anyone else feel the same? Do you sometimes walk alone? I walk with my friend often when he's about (which isn't much lately) and my parents once a week. So been able to get used to going on my own is great. I can mix between the three each week. I sometimes feel nervous when people walk past (depends on my mood) - any tips?

Exercise is great especially in quiet places.

Hey socialwish.

This is the welcome forum where we welcome new members. You might want to repost your thread in our Coping With Social Anxiety forum or our Triumphs Over Social Anxiety forum. You should get more replies there.

Even if our scars donít match thereís no wrong you canít make better if you can figure out a way to change your mind.

And sure thereís things I regret not doing or doing. Those thoughts climb my spine like spiders, and then Iím really the stranger in my own bed,

and that ball of nervous gets pushed into every crack. Thatís whatís holding the bricks together.

I walk or hike alone several days a week. Daytime is fine, but if I'm walking at night I worry people will think I'm a burglar.

I used to do it a lot when I was a kid but looking back, I was pretty ignorant. I know for a fact there were bears in that area. I don't know. Maybe bears aren't as dangerous as I think they are but it still scares me.
