Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone I am new here. I have been struggling with SA for about 15 years or so. Now that I am 29 I have realized that SA has stolen so much of my life away. I dropped out of highschool as a result of having SA. It completely controls my life and I am sick of it. I am ready to take back my life. In reality I love getting to know people and I love spending time with them but because of my SA I have no friends it this deeply saddens me. I want to overcome SA I KNOW IT CAN BE DONE and I AM DETERMINED!!!!

Hey *Chrissy welcome.

Even if our scars donít match thereís no wrong you canít make better if you can figure out a way to change your mind.

And sure thereís things I regret not doing or doing. Those thoughts climb my spine like spiders, and then Iím really the stranger in my own bed,

and that ball of nervous gets pushed into every crack. Thatís whatís holding the bricks together.

Hi, I'm new here as well. Just joined the other day. I can relate to how you felt about school.

I didn't drop out, but when I was in grade school (3rd through 8th) I was petrified to go to school every day. I was a bit of an outcast, lol...and you know how children can be.

Going to school was a nightmare for me.

Either way, welcome and please stick around, it seems like there are some very good people here. People that know what you're going through and can empathize.

Are you seeing anyone professionally? I just recently made the commitment to see a Doctor, I'm 33 and got sick of it. Most importantly my wife got sick of my symptoms. Some people recommend it, some people recommend other ways of help.

Personally, the medicine I'm on is a gift from heaven. I've never felt better. I just hope it's not like what I've known how Doctors behave, "Oh, you're feeling better, let's discontinue that medicine and see how it goes!"

Hi norwood
I was also a bit of an outcast, I was made fun of EVERDAY for just about any reason kids can be soo mean. Going to school was a nightmare for me as well.

I am not currently seeing anyone professionally, I just ordered some self help books from amazon and I am thinking about going on medication. What medication are you taking??

Chrissy, my doctor gave me Klonopin 3 times a day and it's a huge help. I actually don't mind going out to places as much. It really helps.

Hey there Chrissy welcome to the forums. I can understand how you feel about SA stealing years of your life away. We are all here for you (and each other) to offer support, guidance, and friendship on your journey to recovery.

I am also in my twenties and I look back and wish I did more to get better, but I guess it's not too late since we aren't gray haired yet, lol.

Hello Chrissy!
Determination = strength and that is good. That's where I'm at now. I am sick of myself. I will say that age does bring some boldness. I am defintely better than I was 10 years ago. I am forcing myself to return to college. As far as friends go, I've always had some friends because I connect with people that I don't feel will judge me. The loud, obnoxious, crazy, weird ones. That way, I don't have to say much. My husband hates my friends.
