Glad I Found This Forum. :)

My name is Kat, and I'm so glad I found this forum. I was doing some random internet searches for more information on Social Anxiety and came across this very active forum. I was diagnosed with SA last week by my counselor and he suggested I seek the use of antidepressants. I've seen counselors on and off since I was 12 and have been prescribed 3 different SSRIs which didn't help. It has been suggested I use an "antidepressant" again, but I'm not so sure of it since they've never helped before.

I started seeking therapy because I'm in college and my social anxiety makes me afraid to go to class. I'll talk about that more in a different section of the forum though.

I really need some support and I think I found a good place to speak with people who truly understand.

Hi Kat and welcome to SAS! I hope you will be able to share your thoughts, fears, and experiences with your fellow SA'ers. This site is great for emotional support. My name is Richard by the way.

I see the world being slowly transformed into a wilderness, I hear the approaching thunder that, one day, will destroy us too. I feel the suffering of millions. And yet, when I look up at the sky, I somehow feel that everything will change for the better, that this cruelty too shall end, that peace and tranquility will return once more.

Hey Kat, welcome to

Even if our scars donít match thereís no wrong you canít make better if you can figure out a way to change your mind.

And sure thereís things I regret not doing or doing. Those thoughts climb my spine like spiders, and then Iím really the stranger in my own bed,

and that ball of nervous gets pushed into every crack. Thatís whatís holding the bricks together.
