What soothes your nerves?

Yea I'm just interested in what different people use as a sort of antidote to different stresses out their. For myself I tend to listen to music on net-radio, specifically a channel named Dub Techno.. And it almost doesn't sound like music.. But for some reason it works with me. That and Drum地達ass/Jungle (a good jungle track feels like a spine massage )

Then there's just plain old driving, most of the time this works.. When out of the city/town in the country etc

And the last thing that comes to mind is youtube. Watching lets plays of video games from the 90痴 to a youtuber I'm already comfortable with listening to

So.. what's yours. Im searching for more ideas here

(also mini hello to the world as I知 new to these forums -- hopefully I'm not too annoying and can find a way to fit in here :P)

My Mood: Lurking
Talking to animals, driving, video games, drinking in moderation, walking in nature/woods.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death

When it's bad - Valium. I also used a self-hypnosis/meditation thing on Youtube once when even the Valium didn't work and it helped a bit.

Sometimes music but I have to be in a certain mood for music. If I'm too tightly wound it takes too much effort to listen for long enough for it to start to work.

The couple mentions of videogames made me realize I haven't really been chilled by a game since probably Skyrim.. ever since then nothins really done anything for me. I still find certain games fun but nothing seems to compare to my walks around snowy virtual mountains and that music.

When it comes to youtube I used to listen to soundscapes, just plain soundscapes of all sorts of things/places etc, everything from Startrek bridge sounds to underwater ;D.. it was great while I worked, I think after some time I got tired of it and moved on.. but it was interesting.

Also dabbled in white noise to help for a while but didn't seem to notice any difference :/

I do too - it's always sort of relaxing. Especially if you can just stay home nice and cosy.

I should move to the Uk.

Benzos, lavender oil, music, video games, or my cat all seem to work well though the first two of this list work best.

Working out, yoga (which I seldom actually do but should do more often), reading, cleaning, listening to spa music or nature/rain soundtracks on youtube, star gazing, walking etc.

90's games are the best
Hmm, hiit exrecises are really refreshing, piano, drawing, not reading enough lately, not doing enough yoga, watching too much youtube.
Used to listen to a lot of dub/techno as well, but im withdrawing from music as well lately
Its always fun to play around with Ableton Live

My Mood: Tired
Drugs unfortunately, although I am slowly cutting down my use. I was a daily Pot Smoker up until October but I gave it up as I realized it was just making me feel comfortable with my loneliness and that I would not change as long as I had Weed in my life. The withdrawal was awful but after a month I was over it. Nowadays I take Opiates and Benzos about 4 days per week and am slowly cutting down my dosages and how often I do them as I don't want to end up an addict to either of those drug classes.

I plan to go back to playing guitar more often and reading more often too as I used to love both those hobbies. As for soothing my nerves at night so I can sleep though I don't know what I'm gonna do. Meditation is one possibility since so many people rave about it, I need to look into it some more.
