What do you want done with your body when you die? Be buried, burnt to ash, donated to science. etc?

In came up in a conversation yesterday and I thought I am not sure what I would want. Im not religious so I dont need to take that into account.

So what do you think you would want?

P.S. I enjoy life (for the most part) and not looking forward to dying so dont take this question like im planning to off myself.

Honestly don't really care, but if I had to choose, cremation.

Having the option of letting an endangered animal have a little snack seems like the most environmentally friendly option though, maybe as a last meal before he goes extinct.

I want to be buried. I'm not sure why but I find the idea of having my intact body returned back to the Earth to be peaceful somehow. I like the idea that my bones will persist for a time after my death. Like somehow I will still be a part of the human race in a way. I won't just be nothing.

It really doesn't matter to me. Whatever would be cheapest for my family, I suppose.

I want to be cremated, and my ashes scattered if possible. Let the organic materials I was composed of nourish other things after I'm gone.

Also I really don't want a funeral, which shouldn't be a problem as long as my parents die before me. After them I'll have nobody close left. The last thing I want is a bunch of people I barely knew holding some pointless, stiff ceremony, saying a bunch of trite crap that isn't even true. If anyone wants to remember me then they should live, love and laugh, not mourn.

It's initially planned to be cremated, but I also want to donate my organs is a decision made not that long ago.

I used to want to be cremated and shot into space, but space seems like a lonely place to be. If your spirit does haunt your physical remains, I'd want to be on earth where the people are, not orbiting some planet somewhere.

Now, I want to be cremated, but still have a tombstone, like one of those ones with the little drawer that your ashes goes in. And on my grave will be planted just tons and tons of catnip. Then all the cemetery cats will flock to by gravesite, and I'll have all kinds of company. And people will think I was some kind of cat god in life

Once the price per kg of cargo to space makes it cheaper than a casket funeral (which could happen in the next decade for thin people), I've had the idea to defeat global warming by launching millions of dead bodies into a stable orbit where they'll block a sufficient percentage of sunlight. As a bonus, grieving relatives can pull out a telescope and watch grandpa fly overhead with features perfectly preserved by vacuum, every few hours.

But I am an organ donor, so they'll need to empty me out before launch.
