What are your favorite Apps?

Let me start

Mine are probably

1) "Smart Audiobook player". It's really really good. I've bought it and never regretted it. It's better than the Audible app. More options and useful for listening to stuff as you sleep.

2) "Floating Apps". I use it mainly for playing YT or FB videos as audio only and not completely drain my battery, lol.

I don't use any since most stuff won't run on my phone, except the web browser I guess (and most internet sites don't work on it either now.)

Libby, spotify, goodreads, my local library's app, my credit union, flipp, doordash, amazon shopping, planet fitness, smart news, all the usual social media ones, and my local news channel's weather app. Those are my most frequently used.

Sometimes my mind don't shake and shift, but most of the time it does.

Discord, Reddit, Tapatalk, YouTube.

I like Tor for browsing the web anonymously.

Something I love about SAS is that, like the Reddit forum, everything works with Tor and a VPN.

I refer to apps as programs, by the way! I don't have a smartphone and Windows 10 has not convinced me to stop saying "programs". It still says Program Files in the directory! I'm not being a snob though; I just like to say "programs" and not "apps".

Yeah, I don't think Windows 10 made a compelling case for Desktop apps. (I think they are being careful not to change too much after the disastrous first version of Windows 8 which seemed designed primarily for tablets).

I use Tor sometimes, but it's very slow, so it's only for text and stuff.

Curious why you feel you need it. It feels like an extreme option for privacy. : P

@Myosr -- I know that I am magic; I know that there is no genuine separation between this identity and the world that I perceive "around me". My choices affect the world in a big way, so I do my best to create the world that I want to exist by being The World that I want to be.

I believe it is important that everyone has the option to access the internet anonymously, especially for anonymous communication -- so I use Tor and a VPN to protect that option for everyone. It is very simple and easy for me to do that. Getting Tor was as easy as downloading a browser like Firefox, and with regard to the VPN it is like getting a service such as Netflix: not difficult but it is not necessarily something that everyone wants to do.

I want a nice, non-Orwellian society, so I have taken steps to make things be like that for me when I go on the web to communicate via forums such as SAS.

Youtube, Google.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death
Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow,
A poor player that strut's and fret's his hour upon the stage and is heard no more,
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I don't use that many. I like the Google news app. For news. And I like and use Twitter. I use Tidal for music and the sound quality is great but the app itself sucks. It crashes a lot, its a pain in the *** to stream crap to my Sonos and there is no good way to organize stuff, like you can't put favorite bands into folders or group them by genre or anything. I use the Fitbit app too that one isn't too bad for tracking sleep and when I go running or walking. I also use Youtube, and sometimes Spotify. I need to find a good podcast one the Apple podcast app sucks.

Shazam's a good one too. Handy for when you don't know what a song is as you're walking around the supermarket. It's funny how they all start to start sound better as you get older.
