Grandpa is really proud of me

Like really, really proud of me. He could listen to me talk about my job all day. He's so happy about what I'm doing, and how interesting it is. He always worked with his hands, and he's amazed that I'm able to "work with my mind," is what he said yesterday. I never realized he felt this way until recently, I've never had a chance to talk to him about it in so much depth. Maybe because my grandma thinks my job is immoral, so he doesn't ask me about it when she's around, now that she's in the hospital and he's eating dinner with us alone every night he talks to me more. This is a really new experience for me, I've never really felt like anyone was actually proud of me, and I usually don't believe my family when they say stuff like that but I believe him, he's not fast with words and deceiving like regular people.

You are lucky, to have grandparents. I never got to even have grandparents, they died before I was born, I have no siblings, at all, cousins all hate me since forever, just my divorced parents who hate each other and they only criticize me for everything... You are so lucky to have a family member who is proud of you, hold on to that as long as you can.

That's great! I wish I'd had a proper granddad like that. You should treasure those words.

That is so nice. I can't remember the last time I talked to either of my grandpas. Maybe 20yrs ago?

Both of my grandparents died off before they could become ashamed of me.

That's good the old man respects his grandson and takes an interest in your life.

Good to hear @Wings of Amnesty ! It must feel great to have a family member who's proud. I have no clue what my grandparents think of me.

What do you do that your granny thinks what you do is immoral?

It's nice of you to spend time with your grandparents. My grandpa passed away last week, he was the only grandparent I knew. We weren't really close but he was always proud of us grandkids and happy to see us.
Old people are cute. In the end they kinda revert back to kids and aren't too intimidating to be around.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, at least it sounds like you have good memories to keep though.
