I don't know Maybe the ones that are shunned like that are the annoying people or something
I think I've been wronged by a lot of people and treated like crap by them. Even though I hang on to it and remember I don't let them know that it bother's me. There's really only one person I thought wronged me that I completely removed from my life.

GermanHermit,

This is a good question. People are weird. It's like they think some people should know better, and others don't - it's like everybody has their "forgiveness scale". It's strange.

Tania, I'm a little confused as to how you mean... are you talking about in society in general or in a more personal way?

Both!
But maybe I'm just paranoid or imagining things.
((((((((((((((((Tania)))))))))))))))))) You, of all people are not paranoid

Okay, going on my personal experiences (keeping in mind that I have a high 'forgiveness' threshold'...) I tend to forgive most everyone eventually, depending on what was going on. Some people a little faster than others but I see no value in holding a grudge over people that are in my life in some shape or form But, sadly, I'm slow to forget

I can't speak for society in general though

That sounds about right. I think I fall into the "you should know better" category, so whenever I do screw up or do something wrong, it's taken really really seriously by family and friends.

Open up, it's the FBI Police! I'm Special Agent Detective Sargent Doctor Trenchcoat, and this is my partner The Right Honorable Professor Judge Captain Snake!

(((((((((((((((((Tania))))))))))))))))))))) I'm sorry that we didn't understand your original intent of this thread The way you worded it, it sounded like something that you were just wondering about, not something that was causing you pain

I can totally relate to feeling as if your life sucks. I sincerley hope you feel better soon.

Mental illness is what some have, not who they are.

I understood this completely, and frankly, I don't see why several people didn't. Some people seemed to have an aura around them that the rest of us see when we start to hold them accountable for something. In the "glow" we go all soft and let them off the hook. Then we deal with someone who has no glow of forgivability around him by holding him accountable for his wrong and for Mr. Doesnowrong's. Pretty clear to me.

Tanya, please post more stuff, and I hope you're feeling better.
