No - I don't look at life like that at all. I've had a great life - with some very hard times thrown in as well. It could have been a lot worse.

It's largely a question of perspective - and attitude. We can all just sit around thinking life has been so terrible to us all the time or we can do something to change it.

up and down. emotions are like weather. this is natural.

Yes, on a daily basis.

If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.

Despite all relative success I've achieved, I feel it's come at a much higher price than others.

I definitely feel like my life has been an uphill battle.

I came across this channel a while ago - about these kids that try to help some of the people living in the slums of Manila. They know what it's like to have a hard life.

I'd be ashamed of myself thinking my life has been hard talking to people like that.

I've had it so hard in life compared to the average person that it sometimes feels like I've never had any free will. I would like to believe that my life is in my control but I doubt it. Because of this I would have to say yes, I'm a very unlucky person. My life just seems too perfectly ****ed up to be a coincidence.

Life only does that sometimes, I bring me down most of the time cause it seems like the right thing to do.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death
Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow,
A poor player that strut's and fret's his hour upon the stage and is heard no more,
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

All the time.

I get it; some people have it physically worse than others. I guess I'm talking more on a psychological and even social level, and I'm getting damn tired of it.

Depends on the situation. Life is like a game of cards. You have to play with the cards you are dealt.

For me it is - replace "life" with "person".

Enjoy any good things, even the little and menial ones, as you will never know what impending distresses could descend upon you in a moment.

Honestly, not sure where the benefit of pondering the question is:

if yes, then it tends towards giving up and not trying. If no, then its my fault for not trying.

To answer though, I am sure my life would have been better had I not the proclivities for OCD, anxiety and depression. But I also could have been less intelligent, or born into a poor family, or not have met certain people along the way, and all of that stuff. Some good, some bad, but what are you gonna do?

And I obviously don't believe there is a mystical force in the universe trying to keep me down or anything. So yeh. Idk.

Enough about me, lets talk about you, what do you think about me?

I like thinking that bad things can help you appreciate good things more than you usually would. When something gets better for me physically, there’s always another problem, and I don’t like that, but I would rather not be negative over it. Instead, I think of what I’ll do to improve it, and what I’ll do once it’s better.

I don't really anthropomorphise life like that, my brain is mostly a piece of crap and I was born in an environment I can't function in because of who I am.

I think pain should be measured by psychological suffering not circumstances. Unfortunately that's difficult to do now so people weigh the latter higher but we're getting to a point where we can measure pain sensitivity neurologically at least.
