that's also good from an environmental perspective

Was it that TV show called Mayday? Some of the crashes are pretty horrendous. The chances of crashing while flying are pretty low though, your more likely too in a car. However with how everything is right now I wouldn't want to be at the airport or on a plane any time soon.

Theres loads on YouTube it's just called air crash investigation but a lot of the crashes were found to be pilot error or companies cutting maintenance corners is messed up

Interesting, I was watching videos about soldiers in ww1 who had shellshock/ptsd, it wasn't very well understood at the time & alot of them were shot for cowardice.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death
Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow,
A poor player that strut's and fret's his hour upon the stage and is heard no more,
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I don't need to watch crashes to know I never want to crash. It just sounds like it would be bad for you.

Sounds OK would be a quick enough way to go, the falling part would drag a bit I guess : /

That depends on how high up the plane was and what its crashing into, water is pretty much instant.

I’ve watched Air Crash Investigation while I was on a plane a few times.

I hate flying for this very reason. No matter how smart/crafty you are, you generally can't save your life.

The new Microsoft Flight Simulator is out soon. You don't have to die in that at least.

This is exactly the kind of thing I would never do to myself.

Is it just me or is it getting crazier out there.

I never watch those shows, I start watching an episode and then go "Hang on I've already seen this one" I am too poor to travel on a plane so I guess I don't really have that problem

Don't watch those shows. And don't fly Air Asia - or any of the Indonesian airlines for that matter.

If they get into any strife the pilot will announce that everyone should just start praying.

I remember a flight I was on one time and this big guy sitting beside me was absolutely terrified. He just gripped the arm-rests the whole way and looked straight ahead. He was terrified, poor guy.

Another time this girl started telling me how she'd never flown before and how scared she was. I'd just sat down beside her and didn't know her from a bar of soap. (people tend to do this sort of thing with me for some reason) I had to spend the whole trip talking to her and trying to reassure her.

I've watched it a whole bunch (it's called Mayday here). It makes me want to fly even more. I watch it for the science and the investigation of the causes of the crashes. I've always loved planes and flying and the physics of flight, so that stuff just makes me more hyped to fly places.
