average age human being

What is the real average age of a human? These days people in the Western world and Eastern Asia easily live to the age of 80+ but it's no secret that this is only achieved through science. Diseases are spotted early on, medications improve and people actually have the means to fight an illness now.

What if science lagged behind? What would the real average age be? I'm guessing around 60 years old?

Google says the average age human being is 29.6 years old.

But what you're actually asking is for the average life expectancy, which is 71.5 years.

The world average life expectancy in paleolithic times is estimated at 33 years. Of course, much of the dying happened to young children -- kids who managed to live to age 15 had a life expectancy of 54. Neolithic through Roman people lived even shorter lives, their life expediencies were mid-20s. And, well, just read wikipedia for more eras: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_e...tion_over_time

And as it notes there, a wealthy man in the year 1500 who lived to 21 could expect to live to 71. A woman could expect to die giving birth to her 10th child regardless of wealth.

I saw this thing on TV a while ago where a whole lot of people were living to a pretty good age - I think it might have been around Lomalinda or somewhere. (not sure if that's the right spelling, probably not) Lots of Seventh Day Adventists there - it caught my eye because I was raised as one myself.

One of the older gentlemen they were talking to was about 95 or something and had been a surgeon. He said he was quite sure he could still carry out surgery now if necessary. (not sure I'd let him though) He seemed as bright as a button.

They have a very clean-living lifestyle and are largely vegetarian.

During biblical times it was suggested the usual life expectancy was 70 years....

There is a use of it that refers to the span of our lives, in Psalms 90:

The days of our years are threescore years and ten;
and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years,
yet is their strength labor and sorrow;
for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

You're only a valid, respectable human if you appear in your 20s or younger. There's a huge amount of ageism in society, especially in my rich, trendy, youth-oriented area.

Complete bs... (doesn't appeal everywhere)
No one cares about if you are 20 or 40, or whatever in my poor, not trendy and not youth oriented area, that goes downhill even more everyday...

Even shy people can be sassy sometimes...
I'll put drunk raccoon in my signature as well, because I CAN...

What's BS in your ***hole area isn't BS in my area.

There's tons of age discrimination in hiring and everything else in my area. That's very well known and has been proven many times.

People who look old and ugly are treated very poorly around here - ignored, invisible, belittled, and excluded.

..Meanwhile... the Leader of the free world is in his 70's

I think SASsier1 has a point. How likely is it for a 40 year old who never had a job in his life to find one? I'm talking about myself here. I'd say chances are slim.
People over 50 who get the sack also have a small chance of a respectable new job.

Oh no I can't. I can't handle driving a car let alone a truck I'm so afraid of causing accidents or having to handle with people who are all road raged...
I have a regular driver's license, can't remember the last time I drove a car.

..To hell with road raged people, they're idiots by default, that's all you need to know.

You know I just remembered years ago I applied to be a bus driver because they always need people and they supposedly never refuse anyone. Well they refused me lol. I failed some psychological tests before I even got into a bus. They probably think I'm a psychopath or something.
It's weird when I think about it, I must have felt desperate to apply for a job like that, can't imagine me doing that these days
