Vampire funs - where is the fun?

I am a late watcher of everything and I saw true blood series. It was so much copy of Twilight movies and kind of vampires in Twinpeaks. Boring as the intensity of vampires was (is it were) replaced by drinking, killing and sex. I just watched a few first episodes and then the final and the end was boring too. I am glad I did not waste my time to watch the all seasons.

Anyway it looks like that all vampire movies and series has gotten stuck into the same frames. Even actors were partly matching with Twilight. I don't mean same actors per se but that blonde man vampire as higher leader etc.
Is imagination sucked away from the world or why such creative characters than vampires are just drinking, having sex and killing like with such especial skills would not want to do something amazing? Sookie seem to got one yellow ball to play but those have be seen many other series before.

Or if they had something amazing which season is worth to watch?

No, I don't speak English and that is a secret of my happiness!

Twilight is definitely worse than True Blood (though I've only read the books, not watched the films,) and they don't seem similar to me. None of the characters in Twilight are likeable, very boring and cardboard. Their (main pair,) relationship was very unhealthy and while a lot are I felt like there was no self awareness of that fact in the writing, and I dunno I mean it is aimed at teen girls I suppose so you can't expect too much but Christ.

True Blood has that New Orleans trope going on (Anne Rice and Billy Martin/Poppy Z Brite was from there too.. Dunno if his vampire novels were set there though since I never read them. A bunch of Anne Rice's novels were.)

I tried watching the Vampire Diaries at one point and also found that boring.

True blood is the only vampire series that I kept up with, the sassy/dark humour reminded me of Buffy. Though I didn't watch the last season past the first episode.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is probably the best vampire TV series I've watched unless I'm forgetting one. Ironically not for the vampires though.

True blood was great, just the the last episode wasn't good.

I've watched all of The Vampire Diaries too, it was alright, it also has a spinoff show called The Originals.

New show What We Do in the Shadows looks like it might be good.

I Haven't watched Buffy.

A movie called Only Lovers Left Alive is one of the best movies I've watched in the last years, it has cool depressed vampires that refer to humans as zombies hehe, and it had a hypnotizing soundtrack:

The books that True Blood is based on were written years before the Twilight books, so no, the True Blood series is not copying the Twilight movies.

I did not read either, I just saw the tv-series and the movies. Actually both came out in a film shape 2008.

Shadow of the Vampire
Cronos
Stake Land
Daybreakers
The Transfiguration
Midnight Son
Fright Night(not the **** reboot)
Byzantium
Underworld
Salem's Lot
Strigoi
The Wisdom of Crocodiles

Those are all pretty good vamp films I thought were worth listing here. I'm forgetting some for sure and some have been listed by others.

Gather your party before venturing forth. And if you don't have a party, at least you don't have to wait on anyone.

Also just remembered this film while making another post earlier. Let the Right One In is a good film (Swedish with English subtitles.) I wasn't listing vampire films in my previous post though just TV shows.
