She is one of the biggest popsongwriters of last century. She literally road hundreds of songs for others that became hits during the 60s and 70s. For example she wrote the Kylie Minogue hit "the locomotion".
Almost all of the songs on Tapestry have more well known versions of the songs sung by other artists.
