Joker (2019 - it's also about class consciousness though. Also one of those films where the meaning/tone changes depending on what lens you view it using and your interpretation of certain parts.)

Girl, Interrupted.

The wretched world we’re living in at present was not an unlucky war of fate; it was an economic and political decision made without consulting the enormous human population that it would most drastically affect. If we would have it otherwise, if we’d prefer a future that we can call home, then we must stop supporting — even passively — this ravenous, insatiable conservative agenda before it devours us with our kids as a dessert. - Alan Moore

Roman (starring Lucky McKee) is a lesser-known, low-budget movie but I think it's really good. Pretty realistic portrayal of a guy who is so lonely that the only highlight of his day is seeing the woman he's obsessed with walk by his apartment window every afternoon. Then they meet... and some bad s**t goes down. Lol

Joker, Rain Man, Silver Linings Playbook, Perks of Being a Wallflower, is what I think when I think of movies like that.

The world is quiet here.

No, not most of them have the same level of insight into mental illness/health as the ones I posted and they're not focused on it to the same level. Just having characters with mental health problems is not the same.

Finally someone does, lol. She's not known in the United States which is a shame. She has a beautiful voice and has made some great music.

Well idk. Maybe I can only resonate with something more severe and more focused on it, without patronizing, depreciation or applying to morals and from perspective of the mentally ill characters like the ones I mentioned and I haven't seen a lot of movies.

She does. I used to listen to German music back in 2007 and now I also sometimes listen to what I was listening to back then plus something new in German. It's weird, but I like the fact that I can't understand a thing except for a few simple words sometimes.
