Killswitch Engage concert

I saw them(and Still Remains, The Devil Wears Prada, & The Showdown) last night. I also got to meet Killswitch Engage. Got to talk to them, got an autographed picture, and a t-shirt. Actually one of the members wasn't there(Adam) so Patrick Lachman from Damageplan was there in his place and I got to meet him too.
I had planned on staying toward the back during the concert, but all the people I was with wanted near the front, so I stayed at the front...maybe not the best idea, but I did enjoy it alot more than any other concert because of how close to the stage I was. But at one time while Still Remains was playing, I got pushed up against a speaker and my leg got bruised. The guys I was with kept the crazy people from getting close to me though. I wouldn't have dared got that close if I hadn't been with them. They kept pushing the people back the other way to keep them from smashing me.
After that I just sat on the speaker. Until the 300 lb. security guy made us get off it when Killswitch Engage came on, so he could stand on it. At least he was nearby so that made me less nervous about being in the front, though. So I just stood in front of the speaker the entire time and held onto it.

That is really cool. I'm glad you had fun, besides your leg being bruised. At least you had some guys with you to protect you. I can't be at the front, unless I have a death wish.
It also depends on the band, sometimes it can be ok at the front if it's not moshing type of music. Then again, people are idiots and will mosh to almost anything.

Yeah, I had never been up front before for that reason.
Some girl I know online said she saw Killswitch Engage years ago and nobody moshed, everybody just stood there pretty much...definitely isn't that way now. And it doesn't help that the bands actually encourage people to do it either.

Oh yeah, some of 'em do encourage people to mosh and I don't like that. That scares the **** outta me. That's my cue to get the hell outta the way.

Yeah I don't like it either...it's easy for them to encourage it...they're safe on stage. If they're gonna encourage it the least they can do is get down there where we are and join in themselves. haha. Oh well...it was fun. And at least it's just a bruised leg. If I'd been any closer to those crazy people I'm sure I would have been hurt alot worse. The people I was standing near weren't into the moshing either...they were all trying to push the people back away, but occasionally they couldn't stop them and we ended up getting pushed.

Haha right, they're up there on the stage observing the madness.
I'm glad you were safe for the most part. Shows give me such a high. It's the best feeling. I'm going through gig withdrawal, last band I saw was Tenacious D and that was months ago...this summer I'll probably get around to it when someone I'm really interested in comes around.

Oooh lucky. I haven't been since '02, but I had a great time.
It's free this year right? I'm kinda wondering how that works out....

I've seen Killswitch Engage live several times. They're alright.

I've been to a few shows where the singer jumped into the mosh pit.

I had to travel 3 hours to see them. No bands come to this area.
