Favorite radio stations

What do people listen to in the car? Anybody like NPR? XM radio?

Having SA feels like being a scratched up LP that keeps getting stuck at exactly 10 seconds into Track 02.

BBC Radio 4 Extra every day, but not in the car, except occasionally old downloads from it. In the car I listen to my phone which plays downloaded radio drama or music, or occasionally MLB gameday audio.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death
Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow,
A poor player that strut's and fret's his hour upon the stage and is heard no more,
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I listen to XM Turbo, Octane, and Lithium mostly on Sirius XM. Some of the other 90's and 2000's pop and rock stations, too.

I don't listen to the radio. I think the last thing I listened to that was just audio (and not like music tracks on YT,) was episode 23 of the podcast WYRD_SIGNAL but not all of it:

Why does soundcloud embed in such a fail way on this forum? Might as well not if it's just going to work like a url.

The wretched world we’re living in at present was not an unlucky war of fate; it was an economic and political decision made without consulting the enormous human population that it would most drastically affect. If we would have it otherwise, if we’d prefer a future that we can call home, then we must stop supporting — even passively — this ravenous, insatiable conservative agenda before it devours us with our kids as a dessert. - Alan Moore

I have a DAB (terrestrial digital)/internet radio in my room at home. Music stations don't really attract me any more, though I used to like some a lot. Now it's mostly the BBC World Service, but not sure it's quite as good as it used to be and the frequent breaks for news and noisy trailers for whatever programme, are very irritating IMO. Also listen to the other UK BBC talk stations. As for internet radio, mostly the World Radio Network (also talk), but occasionally a German language station or something like that.

In the car,Fox sports talk, the Dan Patrick show. I'm not even that into sports, I hardly watch any team sports on TV but the Dan Patrick show with the Danettes is often funny and just interesting to listen to. I do like sports just don't watch much but I like to follow what's going on, it's a nice distraction. As far as music I try sometimes but I end up wanting to switch stations all the time when they play songs I don't care to listen to which is all too often.

Octane and Outlaw country...at least until the promo elapses in my truck!

*disclaimer: I was a Sirius subscriber for ages until my receiver died. New truck has a receiver built in and it sucks less?*

Anyway I'm enjoying the promo but I will say one thing...for entertainment purposes traditional Radio sucks!

Mostly just listen to my phone's playlist connected to the car's stereo. I use to listen to the local indie rock station and old school hip hop station. But stopped listening to them when the indie rock station changed to an alternative rock format catered to teenagers, and the old school hip hop changed to top 40 pop. I listen to the r&b soul station a lot too, but that recently changed into a sports radio station. Now, majority of the radio stations are just modern hip hop or top 40 pop. NPR is a driving hazard for me because it makes me drowsy on the wheel.

Enjoy any good things, even the little and menial ones, as you will never know what impending distresses could descend upon you in a moment.

If I fail to adapt to the fault of others, it is my fault.

My attention span has always been too short to get really absorbed into a specific channel. The last time I really listened to the radio on a regular basis, the stations I listened to are pretty much gone now.

I usually have NewsRadio on here - often all night. They switch to the BBC usually through the night which is good. Sometimes on the train I'll listen to SBS Chill - they play some decent chillout music sometimes.

I currently listen to WLRN on FM which has NPR and BBC at night. They used to have classical music but now they have that on a separate HD channel.

On Freespeech.org I watch / listen to Thom Hartmann, Stephanie Miller, Randy Rhodes, Amy Goodman, etc.

I gave up on musical radio stations decades ago when they were all bought up by clear channel. I have a music collection of about a 1,000 audio cds which I make copies of and take in my pickup truck, which has a cd player but doesn't play mp3's. I listen to classic rock mostly, everything from AC/DC to ZZ Top.

Past favorites were WSHE, Zeta4, 97GTR and K102 here in Miami.

Neil Rogers was a favorite talk show here in Miami. Unfortunately Uncle Neil passed away about a decade ago.
