Would You Rather Spend One Night In Raccoon City Or Silent Hill?

Here's the scenario: you are forced to spend and hopefully survive one entire night in either zombie infested Raccoon City (pre-nuke):

or "quaint" Silent Hill:

You're given .44 magnum, a few rounds ammo, a flashlight, a city map, one health drink/spray, a lighter, a portable radio, and a knife. Which one would you choose and why?

"Existence well what does it matter?
I exist on the best terms I can
The past is now part of my future,
The present is well out of hand"

Maybe Raccoon City. Although I do have a weird fascination with Silent Hill and the various Otherworld characters.

Gore doesn't effect me as much as psychological horror. In my own nightmares I can usually edit them (not deliberately just happens,) when I reach a certain level of fear in the dream world, so I also don't have much experience with bad nightmares.

I played the demo of Amnesia: the dark descent years ago, bought it, couldn't complete it haha. Tbf I think it was partly just a 'I usually stop playing games thing' but it was hard.

Some people heard my words and thought it meant they knew me
Truth is, I don't exist, I'm just a soundtrack to your movie
Some background figure in a story that's already scripted
And what I feel's just felt for you to hear me ****ing spit it
I jump in many different heads through these words and poems
Always hoping maybe the next leap'll be my leap home

I'd probably go to silent Hill & get so scared I'd just shoot myself.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death
Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow,
A poor player that strut's and fret's his hour upon the stage and is heard no more,
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Raccoon if there's no Tyrant actively seeking you out. Zombies don't open cupboard doors and safes, right?

I think silent hill is worse because you literally can't hide. Insanity etc will get you. IN raccoon city you could probably survive by barricading yourself.

the erasure was forgotten,
the lie became the truth

Silent Hill. The idea of having your personal demons turning on real monsters is more scary. You definetely can't hide. And there is such a disturbing lonely feeling around the town.

Never played any silent hills, but a few resident evils. Would go for raccoon city cause silent hill looks scary with all the fog.

My life already feels like Silent Hill sometimes, when my OCD starts acting up, and my phobias, and I start imagining things. Plus, I get a taste of it most nights when I'm asleep, since I almost always have nightmares. A lot of them have a real SH feel to them. I had one recently about a creature that had something like a pumpkin inside a burlap sack for a head, and it was turning other people's heads into heads like it had (which was apparently very painful, based on the screaming) and then it came after me and chased me through this huge decayed building. But yeah, I have lots of dreams like that. Also, SH is probably my favorite franchise. Probably because I find it so easy to relate to. So SH would be easier for me to deal with.

I love Society. It is entirely composed now of beautiful idiots and brilliant lunatics. Just what Society should be.

About time I give Silent Hill a try. Would probably start from the beginning with the PS1 game. Seeing as how the PS5 is going to be backwards compatible that's a good excuse to buy the console

Soon enough there will be quantum powered VR worlds where you could experience these game worlds like it were real life. Kind of hope I'm dead by then, kind of not.

Might be exciting enough to make up for the fact that it would probably **** you up for life. And I don't really want to pick one. It's like being forced to choose what form of execution you prefer. Neither, please.

I get to choose only one? I'd like a hopper pass, so I can spend the night exploring both of them.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't survive a night in either, but I think I'd have a better chance with the physical horrors of Raccoon City. Don't think I could hide from what ever Silent Hill had in store for me!
