Windows Media Player help...cant see video

I just switched to a new computer and downloaded bittorrent to download/view tv shows and I can hear the sound on windows media player but can't see anything. I know theres something I downloaded before some codex thing that let me see it but I can't recall what it was or where I got it from. Any help would be much appricated.

My Mood: Breezy
I recently downloaded the "advanced" version of windows media player...Silver something, and it went blank after a few minutes. I had to reload the "classic" version.

Anxiety-free since a quarter a' three...

If you really want to use Windows Media Player, then you probably need to install something like this : http://www.free-codecs.com/xp_codec_pack_download.htm

Or you could install VLC Media Player, which plays almost any type of video : http://www.videolan.org/mirror-geo.p....9.9-win32.exe

I can't stand VLC, if you want to use no WMP then I would go with CCCP, its a package that contains zoom player and mpc with some modifications, there is very little it can't do(like vlc) only it seems much more stable and you don't have all the temporary scramble video/audio when trying to select spots in a video.
