I didn't notice much when I took st johns wort. But I don't think I had depression, just severe anxiety at the time. Chamomile tea worked very good for general anxiety. It probably won't stop panic attacks but I would count on it to put to rest the after effects where your heart is still racing etc. Also, Sleepy Time tea has chamomile and other good calming herbs. I can't remember the name but I use the name brand found at most health food stores.
