I was taking a very high amount of Nardil up until a couple weeks ago when there was no more of it in stores and switched to Parnate. I'm only taking 20 mg a day. Its not helping in the way of anxiety and I am curious if a higher dose may help but I also feel uncomfortable asking a psychiatrist to increase a medication's dosage. Any suggestions?
20 mg is not a therapeutic dose, I would say you need a minimum of 30 at the very least and more likely between 40-50 to find it helpful. I take 4.5 pills and I weigh 190lbs.
i dont see there being much of a problem to ask your psychiatrist for an increase.....the only time they wouldnt give me meds is when im looking for sleeping tablets
Just ask your doctor to increase the dose directly and bring any medical literature which supports an increase in the dosage as evidence for why the doctor should increase the dose.
Charlie here! Please face it, Nardil does not work. Please do not exceed 60mg of Nardil. More will not make this drug work, sorry to say. Maximum does of parnate is 40mg. I'm currently in parnate 40mg. And it only works on Depression not Anxiety, no matter what you read. Please read my post on Nardil. Best of luck! PS: Do yourself a favor and get off Nardil slowly.
