It's only going to get worse as the job application process becomes more automated. Employers are also less willing to train you these days to provide you with the 'skills/experience' that are needed to get a job.

Eventually said screw it in my case. I now work as an online contractor for an international company based in China. Obviously, it's only a contract job rather than a permanent position⁠—but I need the income. Also decided to get on with the Airforce or Navy later next year because it's starting to get rather rough playing the 'numbers game' and/or constantly getting overlooked after interviews.
