What is going on with these southern states? How ridiculous. Abortion should be free and easily available everywhere. Then last thing we need are people who don't want kids having kids.

You know what happens when abortion gets banned? Only the most poor and desperate have kids. Anyone with any money or support from family/friends will go to a neighboring state. And in countries where it's completely illegal they just get some ulcer drug on the black market that causes a medical abortion.

Misoprostol is used for self-induced abortions in Brazil, where black market prices exceed US$100 per dose. Illegal medically unsupervised misoprostol abortions in Brazil are associated with a lower complication rate than other forms of illegal self-induced abortion, but are still associated with a higher complication rate than legal, medically supervised surgical and medical abortions. Failed misoprostol abortions are associated with birth defects in some cases.[45][46][47][48][49] Low-income and immigrant populations in New York City have also been observed to use self-administered misoprostol to induce abortions, as this method is much cheaper than a surgical abortion (about $2 per dose).[50] The drug is readily available in Mexico.[51] Use of misoprostol has also increased in Texas in response to increased regulation of abortion providers.
