hello

As far as I am aware, I do not have social anxiety disorder, but I am unbearably shy + awkward + get anxious etc (even shyer than someone I used to know who did experience S.A.D)

I need help and therapy seems like a valid option, so could someone please recommend me a worthwhile therapist in or near London?

alternatively, I would also be very grateful to be informed of other potentially successful methods for resolving my issue.

thank you

I think being very shy qualifies as social anxiety disorder.
What you describe sounds like what I went through. I
don't know of any London therapists to recommend,
so I can't help with that. I did primal therapy and that
helped tremendously to the point where it's no longer
a problem.

I too used to think I was JUST EXTREMELY SHY-but I do have social anxiety since I was a very small child. Social anxiety means that you get anxiety in a specific or many specific social situations and that anxiety keeps you from being able to be yourself or do what you really want to do.

I don't live anywhere near London, but I would suggest finding a good psychologist who has experience with social anxiety. Wishing you the best.
