Ikr. I never thought it would happen when I was a kid. One of my childhood dreams fulfilled. Though I wish Netflix would hurry up and get some of the stuff I haven't seen.

I loved looking at all the old comics and debating which ones I could afford to buy. Great memories. I lived in a small town without any hobby stores so we'd have to wait until we went to The Big City to shop for back issues. We'd buy new ones off the racks in convenience stores.

...in my piles of back issues and hope my brother didn't see them.)

Honestly, I read everything I could get my hands on. (Like Howard the Duck, 'Trapped in a World He Never Made'.) Sadly, though, I had to give up collecting comics after I left home at 18 and I've just never been able to afford to buy very many since then. I've read some great graphic novels, like V for Vendetta and Watchmen and some other stuff like Swamp Thing and The Sandman, but I mostly relied on my friend to provide me with stuff after that. I have a copy of McCloud's Understanding Comics right here on my bookshelf, almost within arm's reach.

I loved comic books so much as a kid not only did my brother and I draw our own stickman comics (seriously, dozens -- maybe hundreds -- of them, with magic markers) but I actually still have dreams about finding old back issues in stores and stuff. If I ever get rich, I'm going back to collecting them.

I had a sort of rivalry with my older brother: he had more seniority (and money) than I did, so he got to collect all the good comics, and I got to collect whatever he didn't really want to spend his money on. Lol. It was alright, though, since we read each other's comics. We were Marvel snobs, so we never collected DC at all, though I did read a few later on.

Two of the series I did get to collect, and that are still favorites of mine (probably for that reason) are The Micronauts (have every issue) and The Defenders (have almost every issue). Those are both probably before your time. :p My favorite series though, were The Fantastic Four and The X-Men (during the Byrne years), Spider-Man (which I've just always loved), and to a lesser extent Daredevil, Dr. Strange, Alpha Flight and a few others. (I tried to collect Spider-Woman and Dazzler when I was a kid but I felt too self-conscious to buy comic books 'for girls', lol, so I'd just sneak an issue in here and there...

Ouch. That sucks. The place I worked at went out of business, too, but I had a few months notice and they actually told us what was happening. I never did get another job, though, because all I'm qualified for is retail, which is my personal version of hell.

I write a story, then set it aside, then write another story, then go back and do a second draft on the first story, write another story, do a third draft, etc. I work very haphazardly. I have about a dozen stories/novels that are finished in first draft that I still need to revise, and I'm still writing new stuff. My goal is to be able to release a story/novel a week. I can work on a ridiculous number of projects at the same time but I find it impossible to go straight from one draft to another draft. I won't see any of the mistakes I've made until my brain has had time to distance itself. Most of my stories get 4 drafts.

Hey, sorry about the late reply. I'm still writing quite a bit, trying some new stuff. Still not making much money, though. I've written about 400,000 words or so this year (about 1,200-1,600 pages). I'm going for a million words. My psych problems make it hard for me to focus sometimes. That and arguing with people on S&C. :lol

Luke Cage and Iron Fist will have their own villains from their comics, but it'll link to The Hand somehow. I love how Luke is the crux for Jessica and Danny, and Matt will come along at some point. I think he'll lead them. Definitely.

I'd love to see Ireland or go to Seoul, South Korea. I know the latter is such a touristy destination, but still.

I'm excited. I'm hopeful for Iron Fist after Luke Cage. The Hand has to be The Defenders' villain.

I'd like to go to another country, but maybe just traveling in the states could be fun.

I'm not sure. Travel somewhere? Unsure, though.

Glad you're doing well. Really. It is hard finding jobs. Without a doubt.

Punisher is great. He officially is getting his own spinoff.

    What's up, man? I still haven't finished DD S2. No spoilers. ;)

I've been trying to do more eventful things the past couple of weeks, but to no avail. Will figure it out. Hopefully.

Thanks for the request. I can't really tell who is on my friend list anymore, lol. I kinda assumed you were already on there.

Yeah, I agree. I just wish (and can still hope) that Hellcat makes an appearance. Even if only lightly as her character learns to kick booty. I understand that they're making the movie of Captain Marvel, so it's fine. I'm pumped for that.

There's one Easter egg they missed and that was the loan shark guy's name being the alter ego for Lone Shark in the MU. A man-shark villain. Heh. MCU just got crazier.

I feel it'll be just as good, if not better. When you season the actors, any new director will go with the flow. It's why a lot of tv shows did well, if not better, without the original creator. X-Files, Simpsons (for a long while) and plenty of others, I'm sure.

I feel Elektra is their to expound upon where Stick left off. The Hand. It's gonna blow up even more this season. Me thinks, what with Punisher, that it'll be backburner stuff, but will come to the forefront in The Defenders or Daredevil season 3. Maybe Iron Fist. I'm excited.

I have 2 episodes left of Jessica Jones. Just in time for Friday's season 2 of Daredevil. Punishment is coming!

It is fine you do not choose the mathematics class as it doesn't correspond to your real interests and goals. I hope you will enjoy building your life around some good things that bring you joy because life should be not only hardships but also joy and happiness. :)
That guy has left me alone now, it seems. But you are right I still need to be cautious.
Today, being in the large store of home appliances, I have heard the song that has captured my heart right away, but the trouble is, I have no idea about the name of the song and the singer. The internet searches just by a few lines failed to help. Oh my goodness, my heart is broken now. :( Well, maybe I will still hear that song somewhere. It was in English btw. saying something like '' At least I am trying ... and things to behold". Sometimes a song heard in the yard sinks deep into my mind. Do you also feel like that at times?
OK, anyway, have a great Sunday with a lot of sunshine and warmth.
    Cheers,
    Tanya

Hey Darktower. Thanks for asking. I've been pretty tired due to a large volume of work this week. There was a huge text in the area of pharmaceutics I needed to translate. Otherwise, I've been emotionally drained because of the fear of that guy - he called me on the phone many times a day and I didn't respond. He showered me with phone messages too. I am afraid he can be some kind of a lunatic or maniac. But hopefully, I am just thinking too much of it. He hasn't called for two days now, so I want to hope he won't be disturbing me. It's a shame I still can't find the right guy. Maybe the problem is in me?
OK, it's enough about me. How are you? What has been going on in your life?

Okay, so when I'm at work I'm fine until I get on the phone (office assistant job/customer service) - and it's not that I'm not good at my job...it's just that I naturally freeze up and stuff when I'm on the phone...or when I feel as though I'm not moving fast enough. Sometime I get nervous when I think my co-worker are talkin' about me or laughing under their breath and then I get even more frustrated and am unable to proficiently perform my job...anyway, what should I do?
