Default Slowly overcoming SA

I did a couple of presentations last week, and although my thoughts were that they were going to be a complete failure, I did pretty good. My fear of presentations and other situations is small now, I found that 99% of the time it turns out better than I imagined it would. I can talk clearly in social situations, my body language has improved greatly, I feel more comfortable around people. Today I answered a question in class with my free will (wasn't picked on to answer). I can make eye contact with people quite easily, I don't stare at the floor anymore.

I'm still the 'quiet guy' but it's not all bad. Anxiety still holds me back but i'm optimistic i'll finish off my SA soon.

That's great. Keep up the positive thinking and you'll get there in the end.

nice job. I also recently did a presentation in front of my class last week and that was the same week I had to take my midterms. I did not know when I was going to be picked to present so I had to prepare everyday that I was going to go on that day when the class is schedule.

I couldn't focus on anything other than the presentation. I actually stayed up to 2AM a couple of nights because I was worried about going up in front of the class when I should of been studying for my midterms I was busy worrying about the presentation and having a 60 eyes stare at me.

It turn out when I got called on I thought I did terrible but when I sat down everyone was saying I was great and detailed. All I could remember from that presentation was being extremely nervous and self conscious. I wished I didn't worry so much about that presentation but I just can't. But it was a relief to know I can communicate to an audience. I tend to stutter when I talk to people I don't know but during the presentation I didn't stutter that much.

I guess this is another example why you shouldn't listen to those negative thoughts
