Default Have you overcome SA?

I'm currently fighting to "get the monkey off my back" myself and I'd really like to hear from some people who feel they have completely overcome SA, or at least have made significant progress. What advice can you give? What would you say is the most important thing to remember while working on changing this? How long did it take you? Your input is invaluable!

I've confronted myself with this problem recently. I'm tired of sitting back and letting it control me, so I try to force myself out of my social comfort zone every day and it really seems to be working. The fist-pumping adrenaline rush I get afterward is intense. Absolutely priceless. Sometimes I'll do something socially awkward. At that point I know I have to rebound in a big way, and so far I always have. It's exciting.
