Yesterday I managed to do something which I have always envied in my friend. Very frequently I would see my friend (let's call him Bob), quite laid back, hanging at some event with 2-3 girls by his side.

Yesterday was my turn ! It was independence day (remember, i'm not from the usa). There was this girl that had called me up to come with her to the national parade of uniformed groups (police, fire, rescue etc). After 1/2 hr waiting for her, I notice that she tagged along with 2 of her friends. So I spent the whole morning with these 3 girls.

What I feel particularly good about is that this time, I did it on my own, without tagging along with Bob. Usually its Bob that brings the girls, and I am lucky if I get 2 mins of the conversation. This time i was on my own, and Bob wasn't there to outclass me.
