The text of this fourth edition has been fully revised and expanded and includes two new chapters: a discussion of physical conditions that can aggravate anxiety and an overview of the use of mindfulness practice in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder and some forms of obsessive-compulsive disorder. As in previous editions, the book offers the most up-to-date information on medications, natural supplements, and complementary strategies that can alleviate anxiety symptoms. The sections on relaxation, nutrition, and exercise have all been updated and broadened. (Copied over from old review system)
Posted by Keith This book contains tons of information on anxiety and different treatment options. It may not go into as much detail on everything as topic specific books, but it contains a moderate in depth overview of many many anxiety related topics and in depth self help strategies. This was one of the first books on anxiety i bought and i still go back to it. It's a great reference and is the perfect first book on anxiety.Get this book and a book on cbt and you'll be in good shape. |

I'm looking for a program (either helping me to develop my own or one I can just go along with) to help me to develop social skills (in particular to continue conversations and to get closer to people), could you tell me is this the book for me or is there a better one?
Thanks |

I really like this book, it is especially good for reference. I would also recommend The Anxiety Workbook For Teens.
(if you're a teen, lol)
