Just ordered the Liftmode one btw
It kinda keeps the panicky feeling away in social situations, but I wouldn't say it makes you more social.
It makes you feel lazy and a little groggy, which is why I use it when I want to just sit around. I also use it to help me sleep sometimes.
I only take it about 1-2 times a week to avoid tolerance.

I recommend that you start with 500mg to see how it effects you. About an hour or two after taking it you should start to feel a little light headed and a little zoned out, it's very minor though so don't worry. Then you will just kinda feel loose and relaxed for about 5 hours or so. At the same time though you will feel spaced out and unmotivated and the light headed feeling isn't always pleasant. That is how it effects me.

It's kind of a hard feeling to explain, so you will have to feel it know what I'm talking about.

I took 2g yesterday through capsules and it didn't effect me whatsoever. Any ideas why? lol. took it on an empty stomach too.

I had the exact same experience. IMO, it is useless for social anxiety.

I have no idea? 2 grams is quite a bit too.
I feel it at just 500mg. Maybe you just have a high tolerance to it's effects.

I agree, it doesn't help my SA at all, despite all the reviews calling it an SA destroyer.
I find that benzos are better for socializing. Phenibut just zones me out too much and makes me act/feel weird.

Interesting you say it leaves you feeling lazy, unmotivated and groggy. It's the exact opposite for me. I find it quite stimulating and take it when I want to get stuff done or go out and socialise.

It obviously works differently for different people.

Unfortunately it just doesn't work for some people. 2g is a decent dose so either you are one of the people it doesn't do anything for or you have dud powder.

I notice I get pretty vivid dreams but that's about it. Anxiety doesn't really go away though and not much of a mood change.

Yeah the GABA family of drugs (GHB/GBL/Phenibut/Baclofen) have given me the longest lasting most vivid dreams i've ever had over the years.

phenibut is somewhat similar to gbl for me in that i would usually get a very noticeable reduction in my anxiety along with an increase in energy/motivation.phenibut did make me more social than i normally would be and this is the main reason i used it.

its strange the way everyone reacts differently to drugs.i find if i take phenibut i get energized and social but if i take benzos, i tend to get lethargic and less social than i normally am.i really dont know how people function daily on benzos.

It does work alright, unlike so many other useless and expensive supplements (eg theanine) but the dose needed can be quite high. To the point that you may find yourself vomiting at some point later on, which kind of renders it of questionable value.

Yes; I have tried nearly every supplement on the market and most are snake oil in terms of their social anxiety alleviation ability, but this and kava do actually work.

The problem with Phenibut is that it is quite hard on the stomach and I personally need quite a high dose to get an effect and on virtually every occasion (haven't used it very often- maybe five or six times) have ended up vomiting.

(Kava works, too, but tastes absolutely disgusting, is quite expensive, and also can be dangerous in its effect on the liver, at least on some people. Personally, I wouldn't take the risk).

What dose are you taking? 2g does nothing for me.

Likewise nothing i've been prescribed has been nearly as effective as phenibut.

I know it's hard on the stomach for some people but not me, and nobody that I personally know who takes it has had the problem. Like all GABA drugs it makes me ravenous. I end up eating loads when on it.

the first time i took phenibut i toook a little over 300 milligrams and i felt it.ive never gotten an upset stomach from it nor have i vomited.i never really got any physical side effects from it but it ended up messing up my sleep patterns.

also, with phenibut, i noticed sometimes it worked very well and other times it would just sedate me and make me foggy headed.plus, another problem with phenibut is it cannot be taken every day or else tolernce and withdrawals occur.the withdrawals can be almost completely eliminated though with the use of neurontin.

Other Treatments
Vitamin D

Background
Have been diagnosed with Social Anxiety for 5 years. CBT therapy (weekly, 3 years) failed to reduce symptoms.

Treatment Experience
Just started taking Phenibut 4 days ago. 500mg daily. Brand: Primaforce. Available from Ebay from 50c/tablet.

I haven't been tracking my anxiety levels of late so I can't give an accurate answer as to whether Phenibut has reduced my anxiety.

However, there have been some unexpected pleasant side-efffect. The first day I took Phenibut, I had strained my upper back very bady lifting a large box. The pain was severe. I have had 3 similar episodes in the last 2 years. During those past events, I would experience regular sharp shooting pain for up to two weeks. However, after taking one Phenibut tablet for unrelated anxiety disorder the pain almost entirely disappeared and hasn't returned. Has anyone else had a similar experience of pain reduction from Phenibut?

Phenibut worked really really well the first time I used it. The next day at work I felt like talking to everyone, even giving them a hug. It didn't work that well thereafter, even if I took it after a long break. Now I'm taking it once a week and it does have an effect as far as I can tell, albeit milder.

Also, the first few times I took it I got dizziness after taking it, and an alcohol like buzz; it'd start about half hr after taking it and last for at least a couple hrs. I haven't experienced that in a while though.

Hope it helps!

Wink you arent really getting a good deal kentcharm

@kentcharm. if you are spending $15 for 60 pills youre sort of getting ripped of compared to other prices. Go to amazon.com. i get 50grams for $12. pure powder form. its pretty intense. I took phenibut for the first time last night and im pretty sure i took way too much but thats fine with me, its a learning experience. I have been feeling crazy for the last 24 hours. I took, what i would assume would be around 5-6 grams last night around 9:00pm. stayed up until 2:00 am having a ball of a time with my fiance (we'll just leave it at that . ). i went to sleep around 2:00 and woke up feeling the same as i did when i went to sleep. So much so that i had to call out of work because i still have not completely come down and it is now 12:00 am. twenty-three hours and this stuff is still having an affect on me. its insane. i would HIGHLY recommend anyone taking this to be cautious youre first use and do not exceed 2 grams at first dose. wait approx 2 hours (on empty stomach) before deciding to dose again. Pros of this product: I was extremely sociable, and happy. A heightened since of emotion, and touch. long lasting. Cons: Nausea, EXTREMELY long lasting, and a bad "hangover" (i usually call the after feeling from drugs an "afterglow"). although, after you go ahead and vomit, if you are feeling hungover or nauseous, you feel pretty good.

Many, many multiples of that dose. I have taken 2 or 3 g on a few occasions with no effect (for example, today I took 6 g ( 2 x 3 g) and it had little effect), hence the move to mega-doses, around 12 g + or so.

I wouldn't recommend imitating my own mega-doses, just emphasising the fact that it is not at all surprising that comparatively small doses have little effect, which doesn't in itself mean that the supplement doesn't work.

By contrast, very large doses of other putative natural anxiolytics are as useless as small doses (eg theanine, valerian, etc).

Yeah, most likely the reason it was hard on my stomach was related to the size of the dose (see above).
