Been taking a g every day for about 2 weeks. Haven't noticed very much but I think it might be doing SOMETHING. Unless its a placebo effect I would say like a 5% reduction in anxiety. But hey when you're in our situation every little bit counts right.

I don't think the effects with anxiety reduction are that noticeable but omega 3 has been proven to improve cognitive function and memory. They did tests on Danish inmates to prove this.

I don't think it has much effect on anxiety, but I feel it has a small effect on my depression. When I take it consistently, it smooths out the rough spots of my day. When I don't take it every day for a couple of days (like this week, took it only ~2 days), I can feel the depression coming back in full force.

I think it works to an extent, i take it an my wife an she is a normal no mental prob,s. it like codliver oil for joints, some people must think it oils the jiont like an oil can, sort of like a hole in the knee you squirt WD40 staight on the jiont. So yes it work,s but dont expect it to cure depression

Careful not to go overboard with it though, new studies confirm it could lead to aggressive prostate cancer in men.

It's a good thing I'm not a guy then. I love taking omega 3 -- helps with my emotions and skin.

I started taking this stuff for lifting weights and it made me break out bad. I struggled with acne and took accutane. This was the first bad breakout I've had in a over a year. After 3 weeks since the last time I took one of the pills, I'm finally starting to clear up again.

It sucks because I know fish oil has a lot of benefits, but I guess I won't ever be taking it again.

Link?

I googled your claim online and all I can find are epidimeolgical studies (no real double blind trials)

Also, not all omega-3 fish oils are created equal. The studies found that men with a high level of DHA had more cancer. The fish oil I take has a 3:1 EPA/DHA ratio.

I'll share with all of you my experience taking fish oil 1,000mg capsules for the past 5 years daily, sometimes twice a day.

It works extremely well for my depression. I rarely feel depressed or "down". It however, has done zilch for my social anxiety. I can say though, if your conditions are exclusive to depression, this is an excellent supplement to take.

Ive been taking fish oil for the past 2 weeks with really good results! , its definitely made my depression quite a bit more stable, though yes for SA it definitely isnt the right kind of supplement. Though I would rather be eating hemp seeds for the omega fats but hey...fish oil definitely gets the job done and I would highly recommend it!

I tried it for a few months, years ago. I don't know what is considered an ideal dosage, but at the time people debated on ideal EPA/DHA ratio. I tried an "ideal" dosage for a few months and had no noticeable effect, other than fishy belches.

I might try omega 3 as treatment. I usually feel better after salmon or fish containing orga 3, just don't have it very often. There seem to be some varying results though.

I don't know why people are complaining about it being ineffective against Mental Issues....That's not what it's for.

Fish oil is very common here in Iceland, nearly every home has it, either bottled or in pill form. It's good for your body/immune system but it's not going to work any miracles. It certainly isn't a drug to fight mental issues.

All the same, I recomend it to anyone as a part of their daily routine, it IS good for you.
