So my mum likes to go and see movies, she doesn't really tend to go with her friends (although she has got them) but instead goes with me. Usually I'll just say yes and go with her. But whenever I do i feel embarrased. I feel like people look at us and laugh at me. I mean it is pretty unusual for a 14 year old male to go to the movies with his mum. She doesn't realise I'm older now, I' a teen. But if i tell her I am afraid she will get really upset and stuff. |

Just tell her you'd rather go with your friends. It's normal, and if she's understanding she'll let you invite a friend or a group of friends to the movies (provided she knows them.)

Hi I think you should tell her how you feel, maybe just show her
this post , in my opinion she would understand you, maybe she thinks that you love to go with her or just to hang out for fun and go out from the house? |

Well I mean if it does not get in the way of you going with your friends at other times then I wouldn't see a reason to get overly embarrassed. Hell I am 22 and go to movie with my mum and dad quite often, it's nice to know your relationship with your parents is good enough where you can do things like this because a lot of people do not have that privilege.
But at the same time if it does get in the way of you going out with friends then I would tell her that, but not in a way which would make her feel like you never want to go out with her, I know how that can hurt mothers.

Knowing my parents, I doubt they have ever seen a movie in their life. If they asked me to go see a movie with them (or do anything recreational for that matter), I'd think either the world is going mad or I'm dreaming.
But I'm not complaining one bit. And anyway, 17 is already adult, so I don't think that even in many normal families parents go to the cinema with their 17 year old son/daughter. Though if your mum is anything like my parents then I feel really sorry for you... but I doubt that is the case... |

My parents both want to go with me and I don't have the heart to decline, anyways, I like watching movies, it's just that the nearest movie theater is riddled with people from my school going out with their girlfriends and whatnot. I feel like crap afterwards. |
