Default Moving on out...

I'm not moving out right now, but I'm curious to know what age you guys plan on moving out from your parents house (if ever). I plan on transferring and going away to college within 2 years, and then hopefully when I graduate I'll be able to provide for myself enough to buy a house (yeah right) or rent an apartment.

So...anybody need a break from people in their house?

I'm moving out for university right after grade 12 ends--it's really not coming fast enough. There's nothing to do in my city, and pretty much everyone knows everyone. Maybe I'll be able to meet new people then...but I doubt it. I'll be content with nobody really knowing me.

I plan to get out of my house soon sometime after I graduate from high school. I want to rent an apartment instead of living in a sorority or whatever. I can stand loneliness better than the lack of privacy. D:

Good question!

I'm 20 right now and in third year university, and still live at home. I have a really hard time getting a job because of SA, so I don't have the money to move out right now and I dont' really mind living at home. We live close to transit, it is easy for me to get to school, and I'm an only child so the house is empty a decent amount of the time.

I would like to move out eventually though. Hopefully I will get my drivers lisence in the next two years and then consider it. So no real rush, I'm happy where I am, but it's on the distant horizon.

Mine either. That's why I'm applying for (and hopefully getting) as many scholarships and bursaries as possible, and also saving most of my paycheque towards my groceries/textbooks/etc fund.

I'm not living on campus, either, as I've got a relative who I can live who's walking distance from the university I'm probably going to. I can't imagine living in a dorm--with my luck, I would probably get stuck with a huge airhead partier and would end up living in the library, anyways.

I like living at home because I hate living alone, but I'd move out right away if I had someone to live with. I feel like the clock is ticking, though. I am 24 and I still have a year and a half left of school. Hopefully I get the nerve (and the money) to move out after I finish school.

I moved out when I was 18... that was my dad's rule "You're out when you're 18." A lot of people think that was pretty strict, but I think I'm happier for it. My parents separated a few years later.

Well, considering you are 18 you really shouldn't rely on your parents seeing that you are more than old enough to get a job and live in a house with other roomates.
Depending on the city, you could find some really cheap rooms that aren't falling apart.

I aint gonna lie n say it aint tough but yeah sometimes in life we have to do things we dont wanna like so yeah im still alive.

I'll move out when I'm 21 or 22. It would be ridiculous for me to move out while in college because I can save money and commute right now. I thought I wanted to get out and live in a dorm, but it turns out that dorms suck.

lol, yeah, I hear ya.

I moved away from home to college when I was 20, but I still come home for a month or two at a time when I need to, or a few weekends out of the semester. I've always wanted to move to another country for a while after I graduate, but my mom's my best friend, so that would be a really difficult balancing act.

Muffins are supplied here and all that fun stuff, like...not having bills -_- though once I begin my job (Monday) I will definitely help out.

I'm sure my parents would be delighted to buy me an apartment, but they really just don't have the money. I can hate them for the money issue till the end of time, but I've learned that won't solve anything or make a difference.

Anyway, despite things being provided for me here, pros have outweighed the cons for years now. I'm itching to leave, and plan to this year. Things are getting too complicated for my liking. We get along, but only because we have to live with one another.

I work at an optical lab. My aunt works there too. I think we even have the same hours.

I moved out of my sister's house about a week after I turned 18. I got enough money from the government (parents deceased) so I could afford it. Hated living with my sister. Haaaate!
