Default Was this CBT?

In my last counselling session, we did an exercise called Therapy timeline, and I felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders afterwards. It helped for a while and kinda put me in a good mood for the week. Unfortunately it didn't last and I'm now in a eurgh mood due to something I read and saw on a friends site.

Anyway, could this timeline exercise been part of CBT? I'm hoping my counsellor continues with exercises like this as it did work or at least for a while.

I believe that is NLP and not CBT. http://www.nlpcoaching.com/whattlt.html Is this what you are talking about? I'm not advocating this site, i'm just using this as an example.
