Altho it's a novel, & not a self-help book, Midnight Cowboy (1965) was a good study of the life of an SA.

It was about a man who could function sexually, but could not make and keep friends.

(Well, I kind of goofed on this post, because I now see it is a vote on different books, and I should have checked "other" as my choice, but maybe this post won't be deleted, since it is about an "other" book).
