Tithing

I tithed for the first time yesterday, and today received a check in the mail 10 times the amount . I'm having financial difficulties and prayed to God about increasing my faith in this area and he answered it. Anyone want to share tithing stories?

I believe this is the only place in the Bible where God says to test Him.--

Malachi 3:8-12

8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.
“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’
“In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the LORD Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.

It is true --- that we will live better on 90 % of what we earn when tithing, than 100% when not --- I can testify to that!

Thanks for the reply. It took me two months to finally do it. I really was not expecting anything, but like you said the Bible says to test God, and you cannot outgive God so I took a leap of faith. We are financially strapped too. Other people have told me that God has blessed them when they give but I had to do it myself to believe it.
