Default Has meditation helped you to overcome anxiety?

Hi,

I'm about of join a mediation course, because some people told me that could be good for me, helping me to learn how mantain my mind clear, ou of negative thoughts. My psychologist, that seems to be quite lost to me, told me that could be interesting as well.

Did you try it and works?

Kind regards.

Yes, it helps me a lot to relax and clear my mind. If I start meditating when I'm really anxious, afterwards I feel soo much better. I try to meditate twice a day, ten minutes each time, and supposedly, the more often you meditate, the more you see the difference it makes on your life and your anxiety as a whole. it takes discipline at first, but i really encourage you, it's gonna be worth it if you keep at it.

what rasberry said is very true. theres this meditation guy, cant remember his name but he introduced meditation into psychietry as it can be seen as a type of 'medi'cation. he used a metaphor which goes something like 'the surface of the sea can be aggresive and fast moving but if you drop 50 feet below, its calm and quiet' guess this is like our minds, so yeah it can create peace in the mind but, as rasberry stated it takes discipline, but will become easier and easier

I have to say I've been trying to start lately myself. I notice once I start to get a good focus on my breath is when my time limit is up lol. Definitely something that takes practice.
