My self esteem is pretty good most of the time. There are lows when I fail at something or feel rejection. I have become good at trying to avoid the lows and to stay in my safety zone. I try to ignore the thoughts that lead to a low self esteem.

My self-esteem is okay, but my confidence sucks.

Esteem is "not good". I think bullying had a lot to do with that.

I would say it is ok now. I think it was worse when I was younger, but by the time I was in highschool I learned not to give a **** about people, and I've also learned to accept myself.

Okay - Most the time I like myself and feel I deserve the best in life...
...just need to work on my confidence and speaking. I'm not sure what experiences shaped my good self-esteem, since I've had a lot of bad things happen in my life. Could be attitude. I'm artistic minded, so I'm generally accepting of quirks and weirdness, more self-indulgent, and appreciative of goodness and beauty in my surroundings. I never understood how people can say that they deserve bad things, or that they don't deserve love from others. Even during times when people treated me badly, or when I suffered through a crippling depression with constant suicidal thoughts...I felt very miserable, but I never felt like I *deserved* any of it.

I know this should be simple, but I really, really don't know how to answer this question. Does it make any sense if I say I have both high and low self-esteem at the same time? I mean, on one level, I really do love myself and think I "deserve" better things in life...on the other hand, I usually feel like complete sh*t around other people. Is this what some of you mean when you say you have high self-esteem but no confidence? If so, count me in.
