I will be saving it with the idea of spending it by next year. I plan to buy a new car (well a new/used one anyway) outright, no payments.

Ha, I said someone should do a poll on this and here it is!!

I'm pretty sure that if I get one, it will be going toward a plane ticket.

Have a nice day,

So far we only have ten votes, but most are saving it all. Do you not understand that it's your patriotic duty to spend -- it's the answer to all economic woes.

It's interesting that even most SAS members, who tend to be far younger and thus have less money that the general population, are still planning to save it all. This would be the age group I'd most expect to spend it and even you guys won't.

I thought everyone who filed a return got one? Not that I am 100% sure of how it works. I do know I am getting one.

I would gather my newfound money, strip naked, toss it all into a bathtub, and bathe in it like the ***** I am. After I finished, I would put it all in savings. I would also casually suggest that the teller use gloves before handling.

You only get a rebate for earned income. All my income for 07 was unearned (capital gains and dividends).

This rebate is new to me, so I'm not up to standard. I was under the assumption as long as you filed (even if you paid on paper, not out of pocket) you would get the rebate, if you paid taxes on this income, I would have thought you would have received at least $300.00, unless of course, your dividends equal over a 100 grand;-) I have to check into this, interesting, this slipped by me.
