what others don't take into account is how sa affects us, and how limiting it can be. Living with the sa for a long time, and we fall behind, inevitably.
But because others dont seem to understand sa atal, they dont put that into consideration. Banzai did you just read the title and answer? ha |

Comparing ourselves to others, being concerned with how we appear, over-analysing things we do in public, being on constant guard in public, expecting the worst to happen, embarassment, self-restriction, feeling less worthy than everyone else, having low self esteem-you name it, these are standard s.a symptoms so your post describes.
The answer as to WHY we compare ourselves to other people is because we have s.a and thats a mental problem so we see there's no logic but the s.a thoughts still continue.

I don't think I've ever compared myself to others. At least hardly ever. I've always been different than others, so I never felt I had any reason to compare myself to people I was nothing like. Occasionally, I do find myself doing it, but I never do it for long because it's futile. Comparing myself to others is like comparing a star to a heart & the two have nothing in common. At least nothing that's immediately evident.

Basing your own worth off of others' preset standards, is definitely not a good way to measure your worth, everyone is worthy & worthwhile, even if they're nothing at all like others.
